Beckham Scores A Career High Against Coastal Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga.- Kris Beckham scored a career high 15 points for the Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team to help capture their third straight win Tuesday night against Coastal Georgia in Coffin Gym.

The Lady 'Canes are now 3-1 for the season while Coastal georgia dropped to 1-5.

GSW led 9-0 with 3:54 remaining in the first quarter and scored six more points to lead 15-4 heading into the second quarter.

Coastal Georgia outscored GSW 25-17 in the second quarter but the Lady 'Canes first quarter kept them in the lead 32-29 heading into halftime.

The Lady 'Canes kept a small lead the remainder of the game but Coastal Georgia was on their heels and tied the game 51-51 with 7:54 remaining in the fourth quarter and tied it again 54-54 with 5:44 left.

GSW kept their composure and took the lead back to capture their third straight win with a score of 68-61.

Gabby Figgers went 3-5 from behind the arc and recorded 14 points for GSW. Va'Queshia Hall scored 10 points and Chanice Whitton had seven points.

Kya Cochran picked up nine of GSW's 46 rebounds and Khayla Owens had seven.

The Lady 'Canes are home on Wednesday to host West Georgia in a non-conference game at 6:00 p.m.
