Hall Scores Season-High 19 Points In Young Harris Loss

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.-Va'Queshia Hall scored a season-high 19 points for the Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team in their 80-44 loss to Young Harris College Saturday in the YHC Basketball Arena.

GSW is now 13-12 overall and 8-10 in the Peach Belt Conference while YHC moved to 9-15, 5-12 PBC.

The first quarter was tied three times before the Lady 'Canes took the lead when Hall put in a jump shot. YHC retaliated with an eight-point run putting in a 3-pointer, layup and another 3-pointer.

Hall put in another jump shot and YHC finished the quarter with a layup and a 3-pointer to lead 19-10.

YHC scored 19 points again in the second quarter and had an 18-point lead but Hall put in a 3-pointer at the end to cut their lead to 38-23 heading into halftime.

The Mountain Lions scored another 19 points in the third quarter and held GSW to just six points to take a 57-29 edge heading into the final quarter.

YHC took a 30-point lead after making a layup to start the fourth quarter. Hall put in a jump shot and Gabby Figgers made a 3-pointer to cut it down.

The Mountain Lions went on a 10-point run in the middle of the quarter to take a 74-36 advantage with 3:48 left.

Hall put in two free throws and YHC put in back-to-back layups. Khalya Owens put in a layup and YHC countered with a layup to lead by 40.

Hall put in a jump shot and Kya Cochran made a layup to end the game and cut the lead to 36 points.

The Lady Hurricanes are on the road Wednesday to play Columbus State in their last conference game of the season. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
