ALBANY, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern women's basketball player Lex Chatman's 26 bench points led the Lady Canes to a 91-62 victory over Albany State during day of the PBC/SIAC Challenge. 

How It Happened: With three minutes to go in the first quarter, Kayla Smith tied the game at 12 points and the Lady Canes never looked back since. They proceeded to go on a 16-4 run to end the first quarter up 28-16. GSW kept their momentum going right into the second half as they went into halftime up 46-29. 

The Lady Canes scored 27 points in the third quarter followed by 18 points in the fourth quarter to push the final score to 91-62. With three minutes left in the game, GSW was leading by 30 points (87-57) but the Golden Rams managed to end the game only down by 29. 

GSW finished the game shooting 44.6% from the field (33-74) while shooting 75% from the line (15-20). Albany State led with 45 rebounds compared to GSW's 39 but the Lady Canes capitalized, scoring 32 points off turnovers. Chatman led GSW in bench points, scoring 26 of the Lady Canes 61. 

Who Stood Out: Three Lady Canes scored in double-digit figures tonight as Chatman paved the way. Smith had 12 points and one block on the night while Jamesha Samuel finished with 11 bench points. Morgan Towells had team highs eight rebounds and seven assists to go along with her eight points scored tonight. Last year, the Lady Canes put up a record high 101 points against the Golden Rams.
