AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team had no answers for the North Georgia offensive attack on Saturday afternoon as the visiting Saints defeated GSW, 8-0, behind six first half scores.

The Lady Hurricanes have now lost their last four contests and fall to 2-8-1 overall and 0-6 in the PBC. North Georgia improves to 10-2, 3-2 PBC.

It took NGCSU less than five minutes to post its first score - a header off of a corner kick - and the game-winning goal. NGCSU put five more balls into the back of the net over the opening 45 minutes with two of those scores coming off corner kicks.

It marked the first time GSW allowed six goals in a half in almost four years. Columbus State scored six times in the first half against GSW on Oct. 29, 2008.

The second half remained quiet until the 82nd minute when NGCSU stretched its lead to 7-0. The Saints proceeded to add one final score in the 87th minute.

North Georgia held a substantial lead in shots on goal (16-1) and corner kicks (14-1).

Amber Bahri saved four shots during her half of action at goalkeeper for GSW. Jordyn Birchett stopped four over the final 45 minutes.

North Georgia also switched goalies at the halftime break. Mallory Sayre started the match and Amanda Lopez finished things recording the only NGCSU save.

Southwestern looks to right the ship on Wednesday at Montevallo. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
