Lady Hurricanes Unable To Bring Down The Lakers

Morrow, Ga. – The Lady Hurricanes traveled to Clayton State for an afternoon match against the Clayton State women's soccer team, in a Peach Belt Conference game.

The Lakers were able to start the scoring early. Clayton State's Denisha Paskell scored the first goal in the 10th minute off a pass from Alicia Robinson. The Lady Hurricanes had a few looks at goal and held the score to 1-0 the rest of the half.

After a penalty kick by Clayton State, Lois Edvardsson scored the second goal of the match. The next goal came from a break away by Paskell when she was able to slip the ball just past GSW keeper Elyse Gowen. The final goal came in the 78th minute by Meghan Marvinny off a cross into the box.

Meagan McKay had two close scoring opportunities for the Lady Hurricanes off of her free kicks, but came up short. Keepers Vanna Lucke and Gowen split time in goal totaling 9 saves compared to Clayton States 1.

The Lady Hurricanes current standing is 0-14-1 and 0-8-1 in the Peach Belt. The team will be on the road Saturday, October 26. They will be playing against Armstrong Atlantic State University at 3:30.
