Flagler Shuts Out Lady 'Canes 9-0

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team lost 9-0 to Flagler on Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field after a two hour lightning delay.

GSW is now to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in the Peach Belt Conference, while Flagler moved to 3-2-2 and 2-1-1 in the PBC.

Flagler scored their first goal off a penalty kick in the seventh minute and scored again one minute later off a header from a corner kick. The third goal came in the 31st minute from the right side of the net and they scored their fourth goal seven minutes later from outside the box to close out the first half and lead 4-0 at halftime.

Flagler scored their fifth goal two minutes into the second half off a loose ball inside the box and scored again less than four minutes later to lead by six.

Flagler's seventh goal came in the 62nd minute and they score their last two goals in the 84th and 88th minute to take a nine goal victory.

GSW finished with five shots, four of which were on goal while Flagler recorded 27 shots, 15 on goal.

Elyse Gowen played all 90 minutes between the pipes, faced 15 shots and made six saves.

The Lady Hurricanes are home on Saturday to host UNC Pembroke in a conference match at 11 a.m.
