Lady Canes Drop Non-Conference Match at West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team fell 6-0 to West Georgia in front of 193 at University Field Wednesday in a non-conference match.

The Wolves (5-5-0) broke a scoreless tie in the 30th minute when Nikki Conte found the back of the net and tallied their second score just two minutes later to take the two goal lead into the break. UWG would add four more goals in the final 45 minutes.

The Lady Canes (0-8-0) took 11 shots, including three each from forward Shatyriah Crawford and defender Avery Heid. Sholeh Rezaee, Devon Coates, Bri Reda, Ella Hawkins and Jessica Bingham each recorded a shot for GSW.  

Both teams recorded four corner kicks on the evening, but total shots were 40-11 in favor of West Georgia.

GSW goalkeeper Sammie Conley made five saves in the first half, giving her 68 on the season.
