Lady Canes Suffer Lost to UNCP

AMERICUS, Ga. -- A drained Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team gave up two first half goals to UNC Pembroke, giving the defending Peach Belt Conference champions a 2-0 win tonight at Hurricane Field. 

GSW (2-11, 0-7 PBC) was led by Leila Hamed, who had two shots out of a team total seven. Ella Hawkins, Michelle Gustavsen and Alison Rugel, who was ejected in the second half, all served shots on goal for the Lady Canes. In the 69th minute, Rugel was ejected from the game, leaving GSW with 10 players on the field for the remainder of the game. 

UNCP's Stacey Scott led her team with two first half goals. Her first goal came assisted by Miranda Addison in the 23rd minute followed by her second, assisted by Brianna De coteau in the 42nd minute. 

The Braves (5-4, 2-3 PBC) outshot the Lady Canes 24-7 and had a plus one advantage in corner kicks over the Lady Canes, 6-5.
