Bearcats Disrupt Lady Canes Senior Night

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team wrapped up their season with a 3-1 loss to Lander University as Ashlyn Baker scored the lone goal for the Lady Canes on senior night at Hurricane Field.

In the 41st minute, Eduarda Giusti passed the ball inside to Baker who tapped the ball in between two defenders for the goal. Alison Rugel and Emily Collum both had two shots tonight as Rugel, Baker and Shannon Walsh took shots on goal. 

Lander (12-2-1, 7-2 PBC) was led by Emily Jernstad, who took eight shots tonight with one falling in the net in the 68th minute. Chloe Le Franc opened up the scoring for the Bearcats with a goal in the eighth minute that was followed by a Juliette Vidal goal in the 37th minute. 

Lander led GSW 24-6 in total shots and they also had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks tonight. 

During pregame, the Lady Canes (3-14, 0-10 PBC) celebrated four seniors: Rachel Cochran, Shelbie Mills, Avery Heid and Ella Hawkins, who all put in hardwork throughout the season.
