'Canes come up short against North Georgia
The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams dropped a pair of matches with North Georgia at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. The women were defeated 7-2 and the men lost 5-4.
The GSW men dropped to 4-12 overall and 0-7 in the Peach Belt, while North Georgia improved to 5-9 and 1-4. Brent Bjerregaard and Brenton Hochstetler led the Hurricanes with wins in both singles and doubles play.
The Southwestern women (3-16, 0-9) earned victories at No. 1 and No. 6 singles. With the win at No. 1, Leady Cuellar improved her singles record to 9-8 this spring.
Both GSW squads travel to ABAC on Wednesday for 2 p.m. matches.
