MILLEDGEVILLE - The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams lost their Peach Belt Conference openers at Georgia College on Saturday afternoon. The GSW women's team had its best showing against the nationally-ranked Bobcats since joining the NCAA in 2007.

The Hurricanes won at No. 1 doubles against the 16th-ranked Bobcats.
Jake Koonce and Evgeniy Vinogradov picked up GSW's lone win when they defeated Johan Wadstein and Andreas Ainalides, 8-2.
Koonce forced a third set at No. 2 singles and Tommy Cangelosi lost a match-deciding, 10-point tiebreaker at No. 6.

The Lady Hurricanes picked up a win in doubles play before earning one victory in singles.
Kalie Douberly and newcomer Taylor Jones notched their third victory in four tries this season at No. 2 doubles with an 8-2 victory over May Johnson and Leah Pridgeon.
Ginny Jones improved to 3-1 in singles in 2013 when she cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 against Pridgeon.
