LAWRENCEVILLE - The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams split a pair of matches at Georgia Gwinnett College on Saturday afternoon at the GGC tennis facility.
GEORGIA GWINNETT 7, GSW MEN 2
The Hurricanes picked up a win in doubles and a win in singles before falling to the Grizzlies, 7-2.
GSW drops to 1-4 this spring while the GGC men remain unbeaten at 5-0.
Joseph Bjerregaard and Matt Vansant improved their record at No. 3 doubles to 2-3 in 2013 for the Hurricanes after an 8-1 win over Taylor Hardy and Aaron Harris.
Valentin Demande upped his singles record to 3-2 after a 6-1, 6-0 win for GSW at No. 6 singles over Harris.

The Lady Hurricanes improve to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in non-conference play after a 5-4 victory over GGC. The Grizzlies suffer their first loss of the season and drop to 2-1.
GSW was behind 2-1 heading into singles play after claiming its lone victory at No. 2 doubles where Ginny Jones and Taylor Jones defeated Abigail Mazza and Allison Fernandez, 8-0. It was the first time this season the sisters teamed to play doubles.
Southwestern won four of six doubles matches to claim the team victory. Ginny Jones was victorious at No. 3 and improved her record to 4-2 in singles. Taylor Jones won at No. 4. Mollie McGowan improved to 4-1 in singles with her win at No. 5 and Melinda Vansant won at No. 6.
