FORT VALLEY, Ga.- Both Georgia Southwestern tennis teams beat Fort Valley State University Thursday afternoon at the FVSU Tennis Courts.
Teams of Steven Blythe / Oliver Marshall, Alex Canovas Ferrando / Beau Millwood and Nate Ashley / Joel Landis all won their doubles matches 8-0.
Blythe won game one of his singles 6-2, 6-3. Ferrando and Millwood won both their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. Landis won both his singles 6-1, 6-1, and Jonathan Martin and Andrew Greneker both won theirs 8-0.
On the women's side all three dobules teams won their matches. Teams of Sydnee Smith / Anneliese Leahy and Kendall Crew / Lauren Resnick won 8-2 and Celia Del Castillo Torres / Jamie Thomas won theirs 8-0.
Smith went 6-0 and 6-1 in her singles match, Leahy won 7-5 in the first set and 6-0 in set two. Crew lost the first set 7-6, then won the second set 6-4 and won the match tiebreaker, 10-5, to take the overall win.
The men's record improves to 1-4 overall and the women are now 1-2.
Both teams are home Saturday to host Florida Tech at 10 a.m. and Point University at 2 p.m.
