Leahy Leads GSW Past Albany State, 9-0

ALBANY, Ga. - The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team swept Albany State University, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon at the ASU Tennis Courts.

Anneliese Leahy had little trouble leading the Lady Hurricanes as she did not drop a game over doubles and singles play. Leahy joined Celia del Castillo Torres at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-0, and proceeded to defeat Samantha Heard, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

GSW's Kendall Crew and Lauren Resnick pulled out a win in the closest match of the afternoon, an 8-5 decision, at No. 2 doubles. 

Del Castillo Torres handled Vivian Moultrie, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles while Crew cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Lauren Resnick topped Torian Foston, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 4 and Jamie Thomas was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5.

The Lady Hurricanes improved their record to 4-10 this spring.

GSW returns home to host Fort Valley State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
