Spring Break Bingo Bash
Select student-athletes from Georgia Southwestern State University took some time out of their spring break schedule to play a few games with friends. Games of BINGO, that is. Members of the GSW Softball and Cross Country teams gathered Wednesday to join in the regularly scheduled Bingo game held in the Retirement Center at Magnolia Manor.

Lady Canes to run in Peach Belt Cross Country Championships on Saturday
The 18th championship will be held in Milledgeville this Saturday, Oct. 25., and hosted by Georgia College & State University on the West Campus Course. The women’s 5k race begins at 9:45 a.m.

The Georgia Southwestern State University women’s cross country team finished tied for eighth at the Georgia College Pre-Conference Meet hosted by Georgia College & State University on Saturday morning.

The Lady Canes opened their 2008 season this past Saturday at the sixth annual Cougar Invitational in Smiths Station, Ala., hosted by Columbus State. They finished third out of four teams.

Columbus State Tabbed as Women’s Cross Country Favorite
The CSU women’s cross country team has been selected as the preseason team to beat in a preseason poll of the league’s head coaches released by the Peach Belt Conference today. The Lady Cougars took seven of nine first-place votes to finish ahead of Augusta State with GCSU in third. Lander, Clayton State, USC Aiken, North Georgia, UNC Pembroke, Francis Marion and GSW were next.
