Lady 'Canes Place 10th at Peach Belt Conference Championships

GAINSVILLE, Ga.- Freshman Savannah Ross led the Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team at the Peach Belt Conference Championships Saturday morning crossing the finish line 33rd overall with a 6k time of 24:39. The Ladies finished 10th of 12 teams with a total of 253 points.

Ross's time is the sixth-fastest time in the program's record books. Ashleigh Owens was right behind Ross placing 39th with a time of 24:52.

Katherine McGarr was 56th at 26:27, Victoria Hickom came in at 26:29 placing 61st, Lauren Ard was three spots behind Hickom with a time of 27:14, Shelby Parsekian was 25 seconds behind her teamate palcing 67th and Mary Catharine Calcutt finished 70th with a time of 28:16.

Nancy Murgor from Young Harris finished first overall with a time of 22:13.

Montevallo took the team title with 26 points placing five girls in the Top 10.

The Lady Hurricanes returns to action Saturday, Nov. 7, for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship 6k at Wingate, N.C.
