MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Katherine McGarr led the Georgia Southwestern State University women's cross country team to a 14th place finish out of 19 schools at the Bobcat Invitational Saturday morning at the Council Farm Course. McGarr completed the 6K event in 25:03.3 to finish 49th out of 141 competitors. McGarr was one of two GSW runners who saw marked improvement from the last time they participated in this race in 2016. McGarr was one minute and four seconds faster compared to two seasons ago.

Savannah Ross was the second Lady Hurricane across the finish line on Saturday, posting a time of 26:10.4 to place 73rd. She shaved two minutes and 20 seconds off her 2016 time at this event. Retchiel Roble was the third GSW runner in, placing 97th in 27:51.

Connie Lewis (28:59.6), Grace Regan (29:49.3), Alex Exum (31:11.6) and Nathalie Maralunda (32:21.8) followed for the Lady Hurricanes.

Finishing with 42 points, Florida State University took home the team title. The Seminoles had five runners finish in the Top 12 of the individual standings to edge runner-up University of Alabama-Huntsville (54).

Justine Glass from the University of Montevallo crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 21:54.7 to win the event.

Up Next: The Lady Hurricanes wrap up their 2018 season on Nov. 3 at the Peach Belt Conference Championships held in Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, S.C. It's the same course they ran earlier this fall at the Jaguar XC Invitational where GSW finished in sixth place out of 10 teams.
