Freshman women's cross country runner Catherine Hall was named a NCAA DII Women's Cross Country All-Academic Athlete for the 2019 season, announced recently by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Freshman Catherine Hall posted the sixth-fastest 6K time in GSW women's cross country history on Saturday morning to lead the Lady Hurricanes at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional held at the Wingate University Cross Country Facility. GSW finished 23rd of 26 teams in its season finale as Hall completed the course in 24:29 to take 70th place out of 181 competitors.
The GSW women's cross country team placed two student-athletes on the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction. Senior Connie Lewis is a three-time honoree and sophomore Alex Exum earned the recognition in her first year of eligibility.
The GSW women's cross country team finished 19th of 24 schools Friday morning at the Florida State University Invitational held at Apalachee Regional Park. Catherine Hall paced the Lady Hurricanes by finishing the 5K course in 20:28 to take 120th place out of 228 competitors.
Quincy Mayer paced the Lady Hurricanes by finishing the 5K course in 20:20.5, the ninth fastest time in program history, for third place out of 54 competitors.
