Lady Hurricanes Finish 7th of 10 at PBC Championships

FAIRBURN, Ga. — Freshman Allie Brown led the Georgia Southwestern State University women's cross country team to a seventh place finish out of 10 schools at the Peach Belt Conference Championships hosted by Clayton State University at Bouckaert Farm on Saturday morning.

Brown, who finished 27th overall out of 83 runners, paced the Lady Hurricanes by completing the 5K course in 20:21.9. Junior Sarah Earley crossed the finish line second for GSW on Saturday with a time of 21:22.1, good for 41st place. Sophomore Megan Strickland placed 57th with freshman Angel Jarvis right behind in 58th. Senior Madaline Toth rounded out GSW's top five with a 63rd place finish. 

Flagler College won the event for the fourth consecutive year as the Saints had four of the top seven runners and earned a cumulative score of 31 points to comfortably separate from runner-up North Georgia (52 points). Augusta University runner Mackenzie Taylor made it back-to-back seasons as the first across the line after posting a time of 18:25.6.

The Lady Hurricanes wrap up their season on Nov. 6 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Spartanburg, S.C.
