AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern golf team shot rounds of 294 and 289 as they finished day one of the Hurricane Invitational tied in fourth place, shooting seven-over 583. The Hurricane Invitational is played at the par 72, 7,024 yard Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga. 

Simon Estrada leads GSW as he sits tied in seventh place with scores of 74 and 69 for a 141 (-3) card. Chase McLain shot two rounds of 72 and sits in 10th place, just one shot out 144 (E). Saksit Jairak and Payne Sells are both tied in 28th place with rounds of 72 and 76 for a 144 (+4). Jaxson Daskalos shot rounds of 78 and 77 for a 155 (+11) card. Individuals Nicolas Escobar is tied in 19th place with rounds of 78 and 68 for a card of 146 (+2) while Jack Tharrington sits in 65th place with two rounds of 77 for a 154 (+10) card. 

Montevallo's Paul Murphy sits atop the leaderboard with a 139 (-5) day one card. Lander's Maxime Legros and Alex Hodge from Carson-Newman is tied in second place with a 140 (-4) card. Noah Zediker from North Georgia and Linus Jonsson from Lander closes out the top five individuals, as they are tied with a 141 (-3) total score.  

No. 34 Clayton St., who shot a tournament low 282 in Round 2, sits in first place with a card of 575 (-1). Second place No. 31 Lander sits two strokes out with a 577 (+1) while No 10 North Georgia 582 (+6) sits in third place. Carson-Newman is tied with GSW in fourth place with a 583 (+7) card. 

Teams will tee off for Round 3 at 8 a.m.
