YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team traveled to Young Harris College Saturday afternoon to face the Mountain Lions for the first time as Peach Belt Conference foes. 

Two Young Harris goals within the first ten minutes of the match proved costly for the Hurricanes as the Blue & Gold fell to the Mountain Lions, 4-0, on the afternoon. 

YHC's Mouhamed Bechir headed in a goal off a pass from Andreas Pechmann at the 4:26 mark of the first half to put Young Harris up, 1-0.

A mere two minutes later Young Harris' sophomore forward Ilija Ilic took a pass from Khurram Shazad and found the back of the net. 

Ilic wasn't finished as he scored his second goal of the game, and tenth on the season, as he took a serve in from Pechmann and found the right corner of the net to give the Mountain Lions a 3-0 lead headed into halftime.

In the second half, Shazad and Ilic teamed up again for a score although this time Shazad took a pass from Ilic and shot passed the outstretched arms of the goal keeper to put the finishing touches on a 4-0 Mountain Lion victory.

On the afternoon, YHC held a commanding 13-1 shots on goal advantage. Senior goal keeper Cade Jones accounted for five saves on the day.

GSW falls to 1-11-1, 0-7 PBC, on the season while Young Harris improves to 11-2-1, 3-1-1 PBC.

Southwestern is back in action this Wednesday, Oct. 17, as they return to Hurricane Field for a 1 p.m. contest against Clayton State.
