Season Concludes With Loss to Palm Beach Atlantic

AMERICUS - Palm Beach Atlantic University scored five goals in the first half and had little trouble spoiling the Georgia Southwestern men's soccer senior day festivities by handing the Hurricanes a 5-0 loss on Saturday afternoon.      

The Hurricanes finish the 2012 campaign with a 2-14-1 record while PBA leaves town with a mark of 12-3.

Kenny Hogg led the Sailfish by scoring his 21st and 22nd goals of the fall. Hogg opened the match with a goal in the seventh minute and added his second score at the 28:17 mark.

Evan Singlar assisted both Hogg scores and added a goal of his own (20').

Chris Karafilov (27') and Charlie Hubbard (39') chipped in with a goal apiece.

Both offenses were quiet in the second half as the teams combined for six shots. 

PBA finished with an 8-5 shots on goal advantage. Corner kicks were tied at 4-4.

Michael Corrigan registered two shots on goal to lead GSW.

Southwestern senior goalkeeper Cade Jones saved two shots in 45 minutes of action. Garrett Blamire stopped one over the final 45 minutes.

Austin Spagnola saved five shots for PBA.

GSW recognized Jones and fellow senior James Romaniw in a pregame ceremony.
