AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University and the University of South Carolina Aiken battled to a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match at Hurricane Field.
GSW's record moved to 3-6-2 overall this season and 0-2-1 in Peach Belt play, while USC Aiken returned home with an overall mark of 2-4-1 and a 0-2-1 record in the PBC. It was the Hurricanes first tie in a PBC match since the 2015 season and the first 0-0 finish since 2013. The only other two 0-0 scores in program history both happened at home during the 2013 season.
Thiago Elias led the Hurricanes offense with three shots on goal.
USCA finished with a slim 17-16 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. The Hurricanes were whistled for five more fouls, 13-8. GSW goalkeeper Francesco Bazzano successfully denied eight shots to turn in his second clean sheet of the fall.
