ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's soccer team surrendered a pair of first half goals to Flagler College en route to a 3-0 Peach Belt Conference loss at Saints Field on Wednesday evening.

GSW suffered its third consecutive loss and the Hurricanes record dipped to 3-9-2 overall this season and 0-5-1 in Peach Belt play, while Flagler bounced back from a 4-0 loss to No. 2 Young Harris on Saturday to improve to 5-8-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the PBC. The Saints have never lost to GSW, winning all 11 meetings.

Flagler broke open a scoreless match in the 17th minute and added an additional first half goal off a successful penalty kick with 47 seconds left before the break. The Hurricanes have surrendered a program-high eight penalty kick attempts this season. Somehow GSW keepers have found a way to turn away half of them.

Flagler delivered the final blow early in the second half with a goal in the 53rd minute.

Jonathan Sayers was unable to convert a penalty kick in the 75th minute for the Hurricanes to break up the shutout.

Flagler finished with a 14-10 advantage in shots and a slim 7-6 edge in corner kicks. The Saints were whistled for five more fouls, 16-11. GSW goalkeeper Francesco Bazzano successfully denied six shots.
