AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Flagler College men's soccer team jumped out to a two-goal lead on Georgia Southwestern State University in the first half of their Peach Belt Conference match Wednesday evening at Hurricane Field and went on to defeat the Hurricanes on Senior Night, 3-0.

The Saints have won two of their last three matches and improved their overall record to 3-11-1, and their Peach Belt Conference mark to 2-4. GSW suffered its fourth straight loss to fall to 4-10 overall and remained scoreless in Peach Belt action, falling to 0-6. 

Dan McGuire gave the Saints the lead in the 10th minute off a corner kick deflection for this sixth goal of the fall. Owen Punselie (5) made it a two-goal advantage when he caught the GSW defense out of position in the 36th minute.

The late score came from Linus Johansson (1) with 55 seconds left to play.  

Flagler finished with a 23-10 advantage in shots and a 9-5 edge in corner kicks. Fouls were even, 9-9.

Sebastian Da Silva led GSW with four shots.

GSW recognized its four seniors (Rafael Faria, Caleb Zolman, Matthew Sherry and Pedro Chung) in a pre-match ceremony.
