Iordanov Leads GSW at UWG Coach Gary Wilson Invitational

CARROLLTON, Ga. — Daniel Iordanov led the Georgia Southwestern State University men's cross country team in the second race of the fall, the University of West Georgia Coach Gary Wilson Invitational, on Saturday morning. Iordanov, paced the Hurricanes by completing the 8K course on the UWG campus in 33:42.87, to take 34th place out of 60 competitors.

Luke Daniels crossed the finish line second for GSW on Saturday with a time of 33:59.96, good for 36th place. Lars Nilsen took 38th place in 34:06.6. Gavin Guion (34:24.63) and Jarrett Adderton (34:52.82) followed for the Hurricanes in 41st and 45th respectively.

Bryan College had the top two runners in the race, but it wasn't enough to win the team title. West Georgia edged out Bryan by three points with a team score of 29 to win the event. Oxford College (74) took home third place ahead of Georgia Military College (99) and Shorter (164).

The Hurricanes finished with 194 points, 31 behind fifth-place Shorter. 

Jackson Hughes from Bryan crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 27:15.4.
