Split Decision

Geogia Southwestern started the day off strong but Lincoln Memorial rallied in the second game of the day to split the double header with the Lady Hurricanes.

Game 1: GSW 4, Lincoln Memorial 2

Georgia Southwestern got on the board first as Kiley Doster doubled in the bottom of the second inning scoring two runs for the Lady Hurricanes.

In the fourth inning, the Railsplitters notched their first run of the game as Cierra Mudd scored off a RBI single by Jordyn Wilson bringing Lincoln Memorial to within a run, 2-1.

GSW notched two runs when Doster's single RBI drove in Shelley Sweatt followed by a Mason Moreland single which drove home Elliott Martin, extending the Lady 'Cane lead, 4-1.

Lincoln Memorial added a run in the top of seventh inning but Southwestern held on to the 4-2 victory.

GSW (2-1) had seven hits on the game. Doster, Sweatt, and Purser led with two hits apiece. Doster also contributed three RBI's for the Lady 'Canes.

Georgia Southwestern starter Allison Pastor (1-1) got the win for the Blue & Gold. Pastor tossed for 6.1 innings and gave up two runs off five hits.

Ashley Cavender received the save for GSW.

Game 2: GSW 6, Lincoln Memorial 10

Lincoln Memorial rallied back in the second game as the Railsplitters achieved a split in the series.

An Ashley Clifton three-run home run in the first inning gave Georgia Southwestern the early 3-0 advantage in the contest.

Southwestern added to its lead in the second inning when Hayley Knight scored off a Jordyn Miller RBI single to put the Lady 'Canes up, 4-0.

Lincoln Memorial (1-3) rallied as the Railsplitters scored seven runs over the next three innings to take a 7-4 advantage.

GSW (2-2) added two runs in the top of the fifth inning but Lincoln Memorial went on to split the two-game doubleheader, with a 10-6 victory.

The Blue & Gold had 10 hits on the afternoon while Clifton led the Lady 'Canes with three RBIs.

Erin Vick (1-1) gets the loss for the Lady Hurricanes as the junior tossed 2.2 innings and gave up five runs on seven hits with three errors.

The Lady Hurricanes will be back in action Thursday as they travel to Albany State for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. with second game starting at 3:00 p.m.
