ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Georgia Southwestern softball began its season on Saturday at the Flagler Invitational against Limestone University and Embry-Riddle.

Game 1 W, 3-1 Limestone

Zoe Willis had a stellar performance pitching and batting. Willis pitched a complete game allowing one run and striking out six batters in seven innings. She recorded two hits in three at bats as well as being awarded an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to close out the game for the Hurricanes.

Game 2 L, 8-2 Embry-Riddle

Katelyn Wood had a great game against Embry-Riddle as she went 3-for-3 behind the plate. Her stellar performance was not enough as Embry-Riddle defeats GSW 8-2.

Softball will remain on the road as they will be heading to Columbus to compete in the Cougar Classic first game 1:45 p.m. Friday against Valdosta State.
