AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Spring Hill College Wednesday in a non-conference match in front of 88 at Hurricane Field.

The win breaks a 23-match winless streak for the visiting Badgers, who improve to 1-5-0 on the season and 0-3-0 in Gulf South Conference play.

The Lady Canes (0-4-0) struggled to find chances in front of the goal throughout the afternoon, as GSW was outshot 21-11 by the Badgers. Shatyriah Crawford scored the lone Georgia Southwestern goal in the 90th minute when she put away a left-footed shot past a diving SHC goalkeeper, Hannah Shankman.

It was the senior Crawford's second finish of the season and third of her career after she scored in the season-opener vs. Emmanuel (Sep 6).

After a scoreless first half, Spring Hill got on the scoreboard in the 52nd minute when Gabrielle Burmaster took a pass from Sidney Spivey and beat GSW goalkeeper Sammie Conley for her second goal of the season.

The Badgers would find the back of the net again just three minutes later when Spivey connected with Lilli Hanks who finished with a driving shot to the left bottom corner past Conley.

Conley made eight saves on 10 Spring Hill shots on goal, giving her 32 saves in four games this season.  

Spring Hill had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks, including five in the first half compared to one for Georgia Southwestern.
