Lady Canes Fall At Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's soccer team fell 5-0 to Clayton State in a Peach Belt Conference match at Laker Field in front of 89 Wednesday.

The Lakers (5-6-0, 2-4-0 PBC) scored in the 13th minute when Ann-Cathrin Zabel put away a shot far post from the right side to take a 1-0 lead. Manoly Baquerizo tacked on the Lakers second goal in the 36th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break. CSU would add two late scores in the final four minutes to make the final five goal differential.  

GSW goalkeeper Sammie Conley made 18 saves before being replaced by Ellie Cook in the 83rd minute. Conley has recorded 97 saves on the season.  

The loss drops the Lady Canes to 0-10-0 on the season and 0-5-0 in Peach Belt play.
