Back-To-Back! Lady Canes Win On The Road

MOBILE, Ala. -- Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team hit the road and came back to Americus with another victory, defeating Spring Hill by a score of 2-1, getting their second win of the season. 

In the fourth minute, Ella Hawkins got her second goal of the season as she scored from four yards out with an assist from Eduarda Giusti, getting the Lady Canes on the board early with a 1-0 lead. Spring Hill returned the favor, when Devin Fry scored from the low far post in the 21th minute to tie the game, 1-1. In the 34th minute, GSW (2-1) pushed back as Emily Collum scored her first goal of the season to push the Lady Canes up 2-1. Collum's goal was assisted by Alison Rugel

In the second half, Spring Hill (0-3) put up 12 shots, but none of them went in as GSW secured their second victory of the season. Throughout the night, the Badgers racked up in stats, getting more shots (18) and corners (11) then the Lady Canes, who put up a total of nine shots and three corners. Both teams had a total of six shots on goal.

Since joining the NCAA in 2006, this is the Lady Canes second time having back-to-back non-conference victories to open the season.
