WINGATE, N.C. -- Freshman Catherine Hall posted the sixth-fastest 6K time in Georgia Southwestern State University women's cross country history on Saturday morning to lead the Lady Hurricanes at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional held at the Wingate University Cross Country Facility. GSW finished 23rd of 26 teams in its season finale as Hall completed the course in 24:29 to take 70th place out of 181 competitors.
Quincy Mayer crossed the finish line second for GSW with a time of 26:31, good for 120th place, while Connie Lewis was the third GSW runner across the line, and 150th overall, in 27:45. Retchiel Roble finished with a time of 28:42 to edge out teammate Madaline Toth (28:44). Alex Exum shaved 17 seconds off her last 6K time and posted a personal record with a 30:02. Nathalie Maralunda completed the course in 32:42.
Queens (N.C.) University placed four runners in the top 15 to finish with 64 points, ahead of Flagler College (100) for the team title. Wingate was third (135), followed by Anderson (S.C.) University (162) and the University of North Georgia (164).
Leah Hanle from the University of Mount Olive crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 20:53.0.
