VALDOSTA - Chris Rawls led three Hurricanes in double figures with 19 points and nine rebounds, but the Blazers came away with a 90-64 win Monday evening.
Anthony Sargent, the reigning Peach Belt Player of the Week, left the game with about a minute left in the first half after sustaining a concussion going for a loose ball and would not return.
Evan Mobley scored 14, and Rick Russell had 10 for GSW (3-2).
Valdosta State (6-1) shot 56 percent for the game, compared with 36 percent for Georgia Southwestern, and the Blazers made 7 of 11 3-pointers in the second half.
Christian Hunter scored 20, and Tyrone Curnell chipped in with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Blazers.
