GSW Climbs Six Spots In National Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team climbed six spots to No. 18 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches/NCAA Division II poll released Tuesday afternoon. 

The Hurricanes are ranked for the fifth straight week after entering the poll at No. 24 on Dec. 3. The No. 18 position matches their best ranking of the season. GSW earned the No. 18 spot back on Dec. 17.

The Hurricanes are one of three Peach Belt Conference members currently ranked in the Top 25. Joining Southwestern is No. 13 Montevallo and No. 22 USC Aiken.

Southwestern has earned a ranking in the national poll in three of the last four seasons while being ranked for a total of 13 weeks.

The Hurricanes are back in action on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. contest in the Storm Dome against UNC Pembroke.
