Thoseby Named Peach Belt Conference Player Of The Week

AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern senior forward Adam Thoseby has been named the Peach Belt Conference men's basketball Player of the Week.

Thoseby averaged 27.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games for the Hurricanes, shooting 68 percent from the field and an eye-popping 82 percent from 3-point range. He opened with a game-high 24 points and five rebounds in a win at North Georgia on Wednesday, then was game's leading scorer on Saturday in a win over Francis Marion with 31 points and eight rebounds.

The Melbourne, Australia, native made 3 of 4 from beyond the arc at North Georgia and drained 6 of 7 from long range against FMU. He also sank 8 of 10 from the free throw line on the week. For the season, Thoseby is shooting over 50 percent from 3-point range in conference games, good for second in the league, and is ninth overall in 3-point percentage and 11th in free throw percentage.

Thoseby becomes the program's 10th Peach Belt POTW since GSW joined the NCAA in 2006-07 and the first since Johathan Brooks took home the award Jan. 13, 2014.

Thoseby and the Hurricanes travel to Young Harris on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
