AIKEN, S.C. -- The University of South Carolina Aiken Convocation Center has not been kind to the Georgia Southwestern State University men's basketball program. GSW dropped to 0-12 all-time in the building after USC Aiken defeated the Hurricanes, 77-69, on Saturday afternoon.

USCA scored 10 unanswered points in the final minute of the game to take the lead and pull away from the Hurricanes.

GSW has yet to win a game outside of Americus this season as its record falls to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in Peach Belt Conference play, while USC Aiken has opened its season with seven consecutive victories (7-0), including a pair of PBC wins. 

How It Happened: The first half belonged to GSW. The Hurricanes connected on 5 of 9 attempts from 3-point range, held USC Aiken to 18.2 percent shooting, grabbed five more rebounds, dished out four more assists and built an 11-point lead, 33-22, that they took into the break.

GSW's largest lead of the afternoon came with 18:10 to play after R.J. Sessions drained a 3-pointer to put the Hurricanes ahead by 13 points, 40-27.

GSW held a lead in the game for nearly 24 minutes (23:53), but the final minute belonged to the Pacers. Aided by three GSW turnovers, USC Aiken connected on a pair of shots and all six free throw attempts to inflate the final margin.        

The Hurricanes finished with a higher shooting percentage (45.5-38.9), made eight more 3-pointers (12-4), was deadly from beyond the arc (12 of 24), grabbed three more rebounds (42-39), dished out seven more assists (16-9), but gave the ball away all too often. GSW had 26 turnovers, compared to nine by USC Aiken. As a result, the Pacers held a 35-11 points off turnovers advantage and was able to take 17 more shots than GSW.  

Who Stood Out: The Hurricanes had five players score in double figures. Sessions led the team with 21 points, behind 5 of 8 shooting from long range, and dished out five assists. Andre Statam connected on 5 of 6 shot attempts en route to 13 points. Jalen Morgan added 12 points. Quenten Taylor scored 11 and Devin Watson chipped in 10 off the bench. Jamari Dean pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

USC Aiken's Xzavier matched Sessions with 21 points and Ty'lik Evans led the Pacers with eight rebounds.
