GSW finishes third at Darton Fall Invitational

GSW finishes third at Darton Fall Invitational

The Georgia Southwestern golf team finished with a two-day total of 609 (304-305) to take third place at the Darton Invitational in Albany that wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.

Host Darton College carded a 299 final round and won the championship with an overall 596 score. Coastal Georgia climbed ahead of GSW to finish in second after firing a tournament-low 291 team score on Tuesday for a 604 (313-291) total. Andrew College and Thomas University (Ga.) rounded out the field.

Individually for GSW, Nate Gahman tied for fourth place in the 44-player field after finishing with a 6-over 150 (72-78). Craig Gibson tied for eighth with an 8-over 152 (77-75). John Wilson Gordon was three strokes better on Day 2, finishing with a 153 (78-75). JP Griffin posted a pair of 77 scores for a 154 total. Charles Pennington shot a 155 (76-79).

The Hurricanes travels to the Flagler Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla. on Sept. 27.
