GSW 9th in PBC Championships after Day 1

POOLER - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team posted a 621 team score after the opening 36 holes of the Peach Belt Conference Championship tournament at the Savannah Quarters Country Club on Monday to finish the day in ninth place out of 11 schools.

All-Conference selection Nate Gahman paced the Hurricanes with a 5-over 149. Gahman shot a 75 in Round 1 and a 74 in Round 2 to finish tied for 15th in the 55-player field. Craig Gibson and J.P. Griffin finished five strokes behind Gahman and Charles Pennington posted a 164 to complete GSW's scoring.

Flagler College fired a tournament-low 584 to finish one stroke ahead of Georgia College and Armstrong Atlantic.

Billy Shida of Georgia College holds the low-individual score with a 5-under par. 

The tournament concludes with a final round on Tuesday.
