GSW golfers compete in Kiawah Island Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -  The Georgia Southwestern golf team sits in 16th place out of 21 teams after the first round of the Seventh Annual Kiawah Island Invitational at the 6,875-yard, par 72 Cougar Point Golf Course.

The defending champion, sixth-ranked Georgia College & State University holds the lead with a score of 292 (+4). No. 20 Barton College and USC Beaufort tied for second with a score of 293 (+5).

Individually for GSW, junior Craig Gibson is tied for 8th place with a first round score of 72 (E).  Nate Gahman shot a 76 (+4); JP Griffin turned in a score of 79 (+7); Reese Moseley and John Wilson Gordon both finished with a 82 (+10).

The final round is set for Tuesday.
