GSW stands pat, finishes 9th at PBC Championships

POOLER - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team entered Tuesday's final round of the Peach Belt Conference Championship tournament at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in ninth place out of 11 schools. The Hurricanes finished the day in the same slot after matching its first round score of 315.

All-Conference selection Nate Gahman shot a 74 in the final round to grab 11th place overall in the 55-player field and paced the Hurricanes with a 7-over 223 total. J.P. Griffin stayed five strokes behind Gahman, matching him with a 74 on Tuesday to end with a 228 overall. Craig Gibson's 236 and a 249 total from Charles Pennington completed GSW's scoring.

Flagler College won the team title with an 872 to finish 16 strokes ahead of 21st-ranked UNC Pembroke, who jumped ahead of No. 15 Armstrong Atlantic and No. 8 Georgia College in the final round.

Joel Dahlenburg of Flagler finished with the low-individual score of 5-under par. Only three golfers ended the tournament under par.
