GREENWOOD, S.C. - Chris Low fired a two-round, 3-under par 141 on Monday to lead the 21st-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team to a tie for sixth place out of 17 teams after Day 1 at the Bearcat Golf Classic held at the par-72, 7,133-yard Greenwood Country Club.
Low is tied for 12th in the 90-player field heading into Tuesday's final round.
Hayes Dupree shot rounds of 73 and 72 to finish Day 1 at 1-over, tied for 32nd. Nick Ward (75,72), Anders Olsson (71,76) and Fraser Johnston (76, 71) took different routes to get to their scores of 3-over 147.
Led by tournament leader Sebastian Barnoya's 9-under 135, 12th-ranked Flagler College (555) leads the event by 10 strokes over Georgia College (565). Southwestern sits 10 strokes behind the second place Bobcats.
GSW begins final round play Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
