GREENWOOD, S.C. - Heavy rains forced the final round of the Peach Belt Conference golf championship to be canceled. The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team finished eighth out of 12 teams even though they climbed two spots after 12 holes in the third round before the rain took over and their scorecards were nullified.
GSW finished with a team score of 587 after just two rounds. Hayes Dupree lead the Hurricanes and finished tied for seventh posting a two round score of 142, his lowest score 36-hole score of the season. Dupree shot 71 in both rounds finishing 2-under par.
Nicholas Ward finished tied for 28th with an overall score of 147. Chris Low finished tied for 32nd with a total score of 148. Anders Olsson finished with an overall total of 151 to tie for 43rd. Fraser Johnston finished tied for 46th with a combined total of 158.
The Hurricanes, ranked No. 3 in the Southeast Region, now await an at-large selections for the upcoming NCAA South/Southeast SuperRegional on May 4-6 at the Lake Jovita Golf Course in Dade City, Florida.
