ST. LEO, Fla.- The nationally ranked Georgia Southwestern golf team placed ninth of 18 teams at the South/Southeast Region Preview hosted by St. Leo University at El Campeon in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

The Hurricanes posted a three-round score of 924 on the 72-par, 7015 yard course. GSW was 46 strokes behind No. 10 ranked Lynn who posted an 880 to win the tournament.

No. 2 Chico State took second place with a three-round 882 and No. 1 St. Leo placed third with an 891. Defending national champions Nova Southeastern (No. 4) took fourth with an 893 and No. 5 Florida Southern dropped three spots to finish fifth with an 895.

Ethan Chamineak moved up six spots after posting a 76 in Round 3 to finish tied for 19th out of 93 golfers with a three-round score of 228. Nicholas Ward finished three strokes behind teammate Chamineak, also posting a 76 in Round 3 to move up eight spots to place tied for 35th. 

Anders Olsson posted a tournament low 78 in Round 3 to move up 10 spots and tie for 54th.

Hayes Dupree finished tied for 57th with a three-round 238 and Tyler Barker moved up five spots after shooting an 83 in Round 3 to finish tied for 70th.

The Hurricanes are back to competition Sunday, March 13th for the Southeastern Collegiate hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
