MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala.-The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team fired a tournament low 288 in Round 3 to finish tied for seventh of 18 teams at the University of North Alabama Classic on Tuesday.

GSW finished with a three-round 884 at the RTJ Fighting Joe 72-par, 7,126-yard course.

Of the 18 teams that competed at the NCAA DII South/Southeast Region Preview, nine were ranked in the Top-50 of the latest NCAA Division II Golfstat Relative Rankings Report including GSW at No. 39.

No. 13 Lee climbed four spots to the top with a ten-under par, three-round 854. No. 9 North Alabama finished second with an 868 and and No. 23 Young Harris placed third with an 875.

The Hurricanes finished tied with Peach Belt Conference foe No. 29 Columbus State and were four strokes behind Montevallo who finished sixth.

Vincent Norrman led the Hurricanes with a two-under, three-round 214 (71, 71, 72) to finish tied for 6th of 96 golfers. Ethan Chamineak posted a tournament low 72 in Round 3 to finish tied for 22nd with a three-round 219. Tyler Barker fired a tournament low 69 in the final round to move up 29 spots and finish tied for 36th with a 224. Nicholas Ward finished tied for 60th with a 229 and Alex Wells posted a 234 to finish tied for 74th

The NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional that will be played at the RTJ course on May 7-10.

GSW hosts the Hurricane Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga.
