Hurricane Invitational Set for Feb. 24-25

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern Golf team will be hosting their 5th Annual Hurricane Invitational, Feb. 24-25 in Albany, Ga. at the Doublegate CC. There will be 16 teams that will play 36 holes on day one followed by the remaining 18 holes on day two at the par 72, 7,024 yard course. 

The event is will be free for all spectators as tee time will start at 8:30 a.m. on both days. 

The field will be stacked, consisting of five teams who are ranked in the top 50 along with one junior college and one NAIA team. No. 13 Delta State, No. 24 Carson-Newman, No. 29 Lander, No. 50 North Georgia, Coker College, Albany State, West Georgia, Clayton State, North Greenville, Montevallo, Georgia College, Belmont Abbey, Emmanual (Ga.), Abraham Baldwin and Brewton-Parker will all be competing in the Hurricane Invitational. 

Southern Arkansas took home the first place trophy last year, shooting an 868 (+4) while GSW's own Vincent Norrman carded a 203 (-13) for a first place win in individuals.
