LAKELAND, Fla. – The GSW men's soccer took on Southeastern University Saturday night. Ron Calle put the Hurricanes ahead scoring the first goal of the match at the 5:43 mark. With a fast break down left side and a cross to the right by Isaac Avila, Calle beat the keeper to top left to score.

Despite tough efforts by the Hurricanes, the Fire put 2 in goal by the end of the 1st half making the score 2-1. Camillo Mejia scored with a cross carried down the right side and Gerritson Craane headed it in off a free kick.

The men fought hard in the second to recover the scoreboard. Brennan Bauschka tried helping the Hurricanes tie the game when his shot was saved. Another effort to tie the game was made by Isaac Avila.

At 81:32 in the game the Fire scored again with a pass from the top of the 18 to right side making the score 3-1.

Both Isaac Avila and Jon-Luke Cannada tried to aid the Hurricanes overcome a loss with shots on net with less than ten minutes left.

Southeastern University finished with a 17-7 advantage in shots while GSW's goalkeeper Garrett Blamire had more saves (5-3).

GSW plays at home this Wednesday September 10 against Brewton-Parker College at 5pm at Hurricane Field.
