GSW Men's Tennis Hurricane Highlight #1: Historic Sweep of ABAC

AMERICUS - The top Hurricane Highlight of the 2013 men's tennis season came off an historic sweep of ABAC.

Coming into the season, Georgia Southwestern had never defeated ABAC since joining the NCAA in 2006-2007.

A perennial power on the National Junior College Athletic Association circuit, ABAC has controlled the series with GSW in recent years, winning by a combined 39-6 margin over the past five seasons. ABAC has finished in the top eight at the NJCAA national tournament the past seven years. In three of those seasons, ABAC finished in third place.

In 2013, that all changed as the Hurricanes swept the Golden Stallions in their two meetings this past season.

On February 18, GSW broke the drought as the 'Canes earned the 6-3 victory at the ABAC tennis courts. Southwestern captured the sweep in the season series off a 7-2 victory at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex in Americus.

On Tuesday, GSWCanes.com will reveal the No. 3 Hurricane Highlight of the historic 2013 softball season.
