ALBANY, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern softball team is now 3-3 in the 2016 season after winning both games against Albany State Tuesday afternoon at Rams Field.

GAME 1: GSW 3, AS 1

The Lady 'Canes took a 2-0 lead at the top of the third when Erin Steele stole second and then scored off a double from Mikela Barlow. Barlow advanced to third and scored on a pass ball.

Steele scored again in the seventh inning with two outs. She singled and advanced to second off a pass ball, moved to third off an error and scored off another pass ball.

Albany State scored one run in the bottom of the seventh off a double to deep center field.

GSW's finished with six hits, three runs and one RBI.

Haley Goodson (2-0) pitched 7 innings, had four hits, one run, walked three and struck out six.

GAME 2: GSW 11, AS 2

Barlow and Lacy Striblin both scored at the top of the first inning and Albany scored off a pass ball and a walk to tie it up.

Emily Smith scored in the second after she walked, advanced to second on a pass ball and headed to third off another pass ball and scored off an illegal pitch to give the Lady 'Canes the lead back.

The third and fourth inning went scoreless and GSW took a giant lead in the fifth with four runs. Ella Hawkins singled to center field, stole second, advanced to third off a pass ball and scored off a bunt from Barlow.

Striblin and Joshlyn Martin scored off a double from Hayley Tierce who scored off a pass ball.

GSW's defense held off Albany State and scored four more runs at the top of the sixth. Bri Lewis and Goodson scored off a double from Barlow, Andrea Tyler scored off a sacrifice fly and Barlow scored to give GSW an 11-2 win.

The Lady 'Canes finished with six hits, 11 runs and three RBIs.

Hayley Tierce  (1-0) pitched 6 innings, gave up three hits, two runs, walked four and struck out nine.

The Lady 'Canes play a double header on Wednesday against Fort Valley at Lady 'Canes Field starting at 1:00 p.m.
