AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern softball third baseman Hayley Tierce has been named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week for the second time this spring.

Tierce registered a .500 batting average with three doubles, four home runs and nine RBIs over six games last week. She posted an eye-popping slugging percentage of 1.250.

The Warner Robins, Ga., native leads the Peach Belt in home runs (9) and slugging percentage (.986), is second in RBIs (34) and fourth in doubles (9).

Tierce joins men's basketball all-american Phillip Brown as the only GSW student-athletes to receive multiple weekly honors in a season from the PBC.     

The Lady Hurricanes are back in action Tuesday afternoon to host Emmanuel College in a non-conference doubleheader at 3 p.m.
