FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- Georgia Southwestern's softball team (22-18) had a combined four home runs in their doubleheader spit with Emmanuel College (18-15) on Tuesday.

Freshman Hayley Tierce hit a home run in both games to bring her tally to 13 for the season. Mikela Barlow had a 3 RBI double in Game 1 and a homer in Game 2 along with Joshlyn Martin.

GAME 1: GSW 5, EC 0

Erin Steele scored in the second off a single from Ella Hawkins and Tierce hit a home run in the third to give GSW a 2-0 lead.

With two outs and bases loaded Barlow hit a double to left field and scored Steele, Emily Smith and Hawkins at the top of the sixth.

The Lady 'Canes defense held off Emmanuel and took the win.

GSW finished with six hits, five runs, five RBIs and two error.

Kaley Sikes had her first shutout and pitched seven innings, had six hits, no runs, walked two and struck out five.

GAME 2: GSW 3, EC 5

Barlow started the game with a home run in the first and Emmanuel tied it up with a single to second base.

GSW took the lead back in the third with home runs from Tierce and Martin and Emmanuel tied it up again off a two-run single in the fourth.

The game remained tied 3-3 and went into extra innings where Emmanuel hit a two-run homer to win.

GSW finished with five hits, three runs, three RBIs and two errors.

Haley Goodson pitched seven innings, had six hits, five runs, walked one and struck out one.

The Lady 'Canes are home on Friday to play a conference doubleheader against Young Harris College starting at 1 p.m.
